About:  The Glebe is historic for Ottawa, as it was one of the first suburbs in the city. Its name was originally called “the Glebe Lands of St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church” but was shortened to “The Glebe” by Realtors in the 1870s when it was initially developed.
